Child Protection

Child Protection is the area of law that deals with children who may be at risk of harm. In the Northern Territory, Territory Families is the government department that works with families to keep children safe.

Territory Families may become involved with families when:

  • A mandatory report made in relation to a child in the family
  • A child is born into a family that has previously been involved with Territory Families
  • A child’s parent or parents pass away

KWILS lawyers, and other legal services, can assist people involved, or who want to be involved, in Child Protection matters.
