Family Law

Fam­i­ly Law is the area of law relat­ing to resolv­ing dis­agree­ments between peo­ple after their rela­tion­ship has fin­ished. Fam­i­ly Law includes divorc­ing, mak­ing arrange­ments for chil­dren and prop­er­ty of the rela­tion­ship, and child support.

A key part of Fam­i­ly Law is Dis­pute Res­o­lu­tion. Dis­pute Res­o­lu­tion is the process of peo­ple talk­ing with each oth­er, with the aim of com­ing to an agree­ment about arrange­ments for chil­dren and prop­er­ty of the rela­tion­ship, and child sup­port. Par­ties can talk with each oth­er about these issues as soon as their rela­tion­ship ends.
